Rathinirvedam (Malayalam: രതിനിര്വേദം) is a 2011 Malayalam coming-of-age film directed by T. K. Rajeev Kumar and starring Shweta Menon and Sreejith. The film is a remake of the 1978 film with the same name directed by Bharathan and written by P. Padmarajan. The film is produced by Suresh Kumar under the banner of Revathy Kalamandhir.
The film stars Shweta Menon in the role of Rathi, and Sreejith in the role of Pappu. The shooting of the film was done in the Onnattukara area of Kayamkulam and Mavelikkara, where the story is set at. The first version of the film was mostly shot in Nelliyambathy.

Rathinirvedam the yesteryear classic, penned by the maverick Padmarajan and brought to life on celluloid by ace director Bharathan is set to return on the big screen . The coming-of-age movie which show cased a sensual portrayal of the titular character by Jayabharathi, in the new version is brought to life by Shewatha Menon. The role of Krishnanchandran as a teenager (Pappu) caught in the flux of sexual adolescence, is being essayed by Sreejith Vijay. The storyline of the classic which miffed many for its sensual portrayal of the lead as well as garnered appreciation for its narrative is bound to be the same in the new version. The classic of 1978 redefined the art of movie making and became a torch bearer for many movies in the 1980’s.

Release
Rathinirvedam was passed with a U/A certificate by the censor board. It released on June 16 in Kerala and on June 17 in rest of India, including six screens in Chennai.
